 GOD Is A Spirit

GOD is a spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."  John 4:24 [1]NIV

     The lives that man and woman lives today are physical and spiritual because we humans are all created in the image of a Spirit: GOD.  We were originally destined to live physical lives without sin but Adam and Eve spoiled that for us by eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. 
 The word of GOD says this: The Lord GOD took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord GOD commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.” Genesis 2:15-17 NIV 
 Adam was given a commandment by GOD.  He failed to follow it.  Adam succumbed to Eve, his helpmate. He failed to follow the commandment that GOD gave him and the knowledge of good and evil was forced into their lives. GOD had them forced out of the Garden of Eden and the knowledge of good and evil has been placed into the future lives of all of their descendants: the world as we know it today.  Starting with the book of Genesis, Christians are taught:  

In the beginning, GOD created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of GOD was hovering over the waters. And GOD said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. GOD saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. GOD called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. Genesis 1:1-5 NIV

GOD is a Spirit and He created us in the form of His image. That is correct.  GOD did not create people in the image of other forms such as fish, reptiles and plant life; but into the image of the Creator of the earth, Himself: GOD. Our physical bodies reside on earth until we return to the spirit form to await the judgment that has been predestined for man and woman from the beginning due to Adam and Eve’s disobedience.
